A history of electricity and magnetism

A history of electricity and magnetism It is the purpose of this book to attempt to give to the reader, who has arrived upon the world scene in the midst of a scientific explosion, a sense of perspective and direction. The word explosion as it is used here is not entirety accurate because it implies a sudden, violent, and instantaneous event. Ttre burgeoning of science resembles more nearly the propagation of a new grain from a few seeds, to a few bushets, and finally to a tremendous harvest.
