Client: Juniper & Oak, a small online shop of handmade ceramics and home goods. Task: two emails for their mailing service: a welcome email with 10% off the first order and a spring sale email with 20% off vases and planters, in sand, terracotta and olive.

About this service

You have an email design and need it as code that email programs show properly. Upload screenshots or PNG exports of your mock-up, and we build it as an HTML email: the same blocks in the same order, colours, sizes and buttons, with real text instead of a picture of text. The code is what email programs need: tables 600 px wide, styles on each element, similar system fonts, and one column on phones even when your design has only a desktop version. Photos and illustrations of the mock-up are drawn anew in the same spirit, or yours are used when you upload them. We cannot open Figma, PSD or Sketch files: export the screens as pictures. We do not send the emails.

What we need from you

Up to 5 pictures as PNG, JPEG or WebP: the screens of your email design, one email per picture, sharp enough to read the text, and, if you like, your logo and photos to use as they are. Say which file is which email, the texts if they differ from the mock-up, where each button should lead, and the sender's details for the footer. Not Figma, PSD or Sketch files: export each email frame as a picture.

Questions and answers

Can you open my Figma or PSD file?

No, we work from pictures of the screens. In Figma select the email frame and export it as PNG at 2x; in Photoshop use Export As. A tall email can be one long picture.

Will it match my design to the pixel?

It will be close in layout, colours, sizes and order of the blocks, but not to the pixel: email programs show emails a little differently, fonts are similar system fonts, and photos are drawn anew unless you upload your own. Send a test to a few mailboxes and a phone before sending.

My design has a special font and a video. What then?

Most email programs show neither web fonts nor video, so text is set in a similar system font, and the video becomes a picture with a play sign that leads to it.

Can you build an email copied from another company?

We build designs you own or have the right to use. We do not copy another company's email one-to-one; an email you like can only be a hint for the style.

Will it fit my mailing service's drag-and-drop editor?

You get plain HTML to import or paste as your own code. It is not split into the editor's blocks, so later changes are made in the code editor. The footer has an unsubscribe link placeholder for your service's own link.
