About this service

We create vintage label-style logo concepts for craft distilleries and spirits brands (whisky, gin, rum, vodka, bitters): engraved-look emblems, ornate frames, stills and botanicals, and the serif lettering of old apothecary and bottle labels. These are logo concepts for the brand, not a full bottle label, and each is planned to sit on a label, a cork or wax seal, a barrel head and a tasting-room sign.

What is included

  • What you getDistillery logo concepts in high resolution, each a different vintage direction, from an engraved emblem to an apothecary-style wordmark. Delivered as PNG files; source vector files (.ai, .eps, .svg) are not included. These are concepts, not a registered trademark: check availability before registering.
  • Engraved lookThe fine line shading of old labels
  • Your botanicals and stillsJuniper, barley, cane or a copper still
  • Seal versionA round mark for wax seals and corks
  • Barrel and signBold enough to brand a barrel head

What we need from you

The distillery or brand name, the spirits you make, where you are and which local symbols matter (a river, an animal, a plant), colours and links to bottle labels you admire.

We will ask you:

  • What is the distillery or brand name?
  • Which spirits do you make?
  • Which local symbol could be in the emblem?
  • Should it feel old-world or modern craft?

Questions and answers

Do you design the full bottle label?

No, this is the logo. Strength, volume and other required label text are added by your label designer, who also prepares the print files.

Does the logo meet alcohol labelling rules?

We don't check labelling requirements, which vary by country. Check the final label with your regulator or lawyer.

Can the fine engraving be printed small?

Very fine lines can fill in on a cork or a small seal. For those, pick or ask for a simpler version.
