Host lines (opening)

Tom (in captain's hat): "Ahoy, crew! I'm Captain Redbeard, and this morning a seagull dropped this on our deck." (holds up a torn map) "Half a map! Legend says the other half is hidden right here, guarded by riddles only real pirates can solve. Are you real pirates?" (kids shout "Aye!") "I can't hear you over the waves!" (louder "AYE!") "Then earn your gold. Three trials, one treasure. Crews, to your ships!"

Games and contests

Cannonball relay (20 min)

Each crew carries water balloons on a big spoon to their "ship" (a hula hoop) 10 metres away. A dropped "cannonball" goes back to the start. The crew with the most balloons in 3 minutes wins a map piece. Rain option: use ping-pong balls indoors.

Knots & riddles (20 min)

Two tasks per crew: tie a simple knot from a picture card, and solve 3 riddles. Example: "I have a bed but never sleep, a mouth but never eat. What am I?" (A river.)

Treasure hunt (35 min)

Five clues in rhyme lead around the yard. Clue 1: "Where green things grow and the hose sleeps tight, look under the pot that's painted white." The last clue leads to a chest with gold coin bags for everyone — no crew loses.

Props list

About this service

We write the reception script for whoever holds the microphone, a hired host or a friend of the couple: the grand entrance, toasts in a set order, first dance, cake cutting, bouquet toss and games between courses. The lines use the couple's names and story, so it sounds like their wedding, not a template. Every cue for the DJ and the venue team is marked, which keeps the evening on schedule with the kitchen.

What is included

  • What you getA reception script with times, the host's lines for every moment, toast introductions, games with rules and a cue sheet for the DJ, as formatted text on the order page. We do not provide a host.
  • Key momentsEntrance, first dance, cake, bouquet
  • Toast orderEach speaker introduced warmly
  • Couple's storyWoven into the host's lines
  • Games between coursesThat fit your crowd and venue
  • DJ cue sheetMusic cues for every moment

How it works

  1. 1
BriefYou tell us about the couple and the day
  2. 2
ScriptWe write the timeline, lines and games
  3. 3
RehearseThe host reads it through before the day

What we need from you

The couple's names and how they met, the venue's timeline for food service, who gives toasts, traditions to include or skip, and the crowd: a quiet family dinner or a dance party.

We will ask you:

  • What are the couple's names, and how did they meet?
  • Who will give toasts, and in what order?
  • Which traditions should we include or skip?
  • What are the guests like?

Questions and answers

Can a friend host with this script?

Yes. The lines are written to be read aloud naturally, with notes on pauses and what to do if a toast runs long.

Can the script be in two languages?

Yes. For bilingual weddings we write each key line in both languages, short enough that repeating them does not drag.

Do you coordinate with the venue?

No. We build the script around the food service times you send; you or your planner confirm them with the venue.
