Host lines (opening)

Tom (in captain's hat): "Ahoy, crew! I'm Captain Redbeard, and this morning a seagull dropped this on our deck." (holds up a torn map) "Half a map! Legend says the other half is hidden right here, guarded by riddles only real pirates can solve. Are you real pirates?" (kids shout "Aye!") "I can't hear you over the waves!" (louder "AYE!") "Then earn your gold. Three trials, one treasure. Crews, to your ships!"

Games and contests

Cannonball relay (20 min)

Each crew carries water balloons on a big spoon to their "ship" (a hula hoop) 10 metres away. A dropped "cannonball" goes back to the start. The crew with the most balloons in 3 minutes wins a map piece. Rain option: use ping-pong balls indoors.

Knots & riddles (20 min)

Two tasks per crew: tie a simple knot from a picture card, and solve 3 riddles. Example: "I have a bed but never sleep, a mouth but never eat. What am I?" (A river.)

Treasure hunt (35 min)

Five clues in rhyme lead around the yard. Clue 1: "Where green things grow and the hose sleeps tight, look under the pot that's painted white." The last clue leads to a chest with gold coin bags for everyone — no crew loses.

Props list

  • 16 bandanas, name tags, captain's hat
  • Torn map in 4 pieces, 5 rhyme clue cards
  • 4 hula hoops, 4 large spoons, 40 water balloons
  • Small chest, 16 bags of chocolate coins

Backup ideas

About this service

At a family reunion, great-grandparents, cousins who have never met and teenagers glued to their phones all end up in one backyard or rented hall. We write a program that gets the branches of the family talking: a welcome, games that mix generations, a family history quiz built on your stories, a group photo moment, a memory corner and time to simply sit and eat. The host, usually one of the relatives, reads straight from the script.

What we need from you

How many guests and of which ages, the family branches and how well they know each other, a few family stories and facts for the quiz, the venue, the length and any relatives to honor.

We will ask you:

  • How many relatives are coming, and of what ages?
  • Can you share a few family stories or facts?
  • Where will you meet, and for how long?
  • Is there someone to honor or remember?

Questions and answers

Our reunion lasts a whole weekend. Can you plan that?

Yes. Premium covers up to 8 hours of program, which we can spread over two days with free time in between.

How do we include relatives who cannot come?

We add a video call slot or a moment to read their messages aloud, and mark when to set it up.

What if there is tension in the family?

Tell us gently in the brief. We avoid games that put people on the spot and keep the program light and inclusive.
