Host lines (opening)
Tom (in captain's hat): "Ahoy, crew! I'm Captain Redbeard, and this morning a seagull dropped this on our deck." (holds up a torn map) "Half a map! Legend says the other half is hidden right here, guarded by riddles only real pirates can solve. Are you real pirates?" (kids shout "Aye!") "I can't hear you over the waves!" (louder "AYE!") "Then earn your gold. Three trials, one treasure. Crews, to your ships!"
Games and contests
Cannonball relay (20 min)
Each crew carries water balloons on a big spoon to their "ship" (a hula hoop) 10 metres away. A dropped "cannonball" goes back to the start. The crew with the most balloons in 3 minutes wins a map piece. Rain option: use ping-pong balls indoors.
Knots & riddles (20 min)
Two tasks per crew: tie a simple knot from a picture card, and solve 3 riddles. Example: "I have a bed but never sleep, a mouth but never eat. What am I?" (A river.)
Treasure hunt (35 min)
Five clues in rhyme lead around the yard. Clue 1: "Where green things grow and the hose sleeps tight, look under the pot that's painted white." The last clue leads to a chest with gold coin bags for everyone — no crew loses.

About this service
After the service, a bar or bat mitzvah party has to please a room split in two: the young person's friends who want to dance and play, and grandparents and family friends who came for the meaning of the day. We write the party scenario: the grand entrance, the candle-lighting ceremony with a short verse for each honoree, the hora, speeches from parents, games for the teens and calm moments for the older guests. The emcee, DJ or a family member runs it from the script.
What is included
- What you getA party scenario with timing, host lines, candle-lighting verses, parent speech outlines, games for teens with rules, moments for older guests and a DJ cue sheet, as formatted text on the order page; the religious service itself is led by your rabbi and is not part of this script.
- Grand entranceWith words and music cues
- Candle-lightingA short verse for each honoree
- Teen gamesFun without embarrassing the guest of honor
- Family momentsParent speeches, a slideshow, the hora

What we need from you
The name and age of the young person, their hobbies and personality, the theme if any, the number of teen and adult guests, who lights candles, the venue and the length of the party.
We will ask you:
- What are the young person's name, age and interests?
- How many candles, and who will light them?
- Is there a party theme?
- How many teen and adult guests are coming?

Questions and answers
Do you write the d'var Torah speech?
No. That speech is prepared by the young person with their rabbi or tutor. We write the party only.
Can the candle verses rhyme?
Yes, rhymed or plain, funny or heartfelt; tell us the style. Each verse names the honoree and their connection to the family.
Can it work for a joint party for twins or a b'nai mitzvah?
Yes. We give each young person their own moments in the scenario so neither feels second.
