Files: a ZIP archive with index.html, the styles, script.js and 4 pictures drawn for the game. It works with a mouse, a finger and the arrow keys, keeps the best score on the player's device, and goes on the client's own hosting or in an iframe on their site. The pictures here are screenshots of the game.

Client: Maple Bean, a coffee shop that wanted a little game for its website and social pages to tell people about its autumn blend. Task: a catching game in warm autumn colours: the player moves a cup, catches coffee beans (+1), golden beans (+5), dodges ice cubes, has 3 lives and 2 levels; the end screen links to the menu.

About this service

A digital scratch card: a shiny layer in your style covers the middle of the card, and the player rubs it off with a finger or the mouse to see what is underneath. People enjoy the small moment of suspense, which suits a launch, a sale or a thank-you to customers. You choose what hides under the layer and how often each result comes up, and we draw the card and write the texts and the code. In Basic and Standard the card reveals your messages or symbols; your promo code is shown only in Premium. What a player gets is picked in their browser, so they can reload and play again: the game has no server, accounts or collecting of emails, and it cannot give each person a different code. You create the code in your shop and run the promotion and its legal side.

What we need from you

What the promotion is and who will play. What can appear under the layer, with the text of each result and how often it should come up. For Standard, the symbols to match, such as your products or icons. For Premium, the promo code and which results show it. Your colours, a pattern or style for the card, and where the end-screen button leads. Optionally up to 5 pictures as PNG, JPEG or WebP: your logo and products you have the right to use.

Questions and answers

Does every player get their own code?

No. The game has no server, so it shows the code or codes you put in it; it cannot hand out a unique code to each person or know who already got one. Set limits on the code in your shop if you need them.

Can I send the scratch card in an email?

Not inside the email itself: email apps do not run games. Put the card on your site and send a link or a button to that page.

Can a player scratch again?

Yes, by reloading the page. If one try per person matters for your promotion, the game cannot ensure it: that needs a server, which is not part of this service.

Is the promo code in Basic?

No, only in Premium. In Basic and Standard the card reveals your messages, pictures or symbols, and the end screen can lead to your shop.
