Files: a separate MP3 for each sound, no music or speech.

Client: a podcast studio and a mobile app developer. Brief: an old wooden door that creaks open and slams shut, for a mystery story; a soft, modern notification sound for an app.

The client and all details are made up.

About this service

Sound effects made for your project: button clicks, notifications and success sounds for an app; footsteps, hits, coins, power-ups and magic for a game; whooshes, transitions and impacts for videos; doors, rain, crowds and city noise for a podcast or an audio story. List the sounds you need or tell us what the project is, and we make each one as a separate file, levelled and trimmed, with no music or speech.

What we need from you

The list of sounds you need, with a few words about each (what makes the sound, the material, near or far, short or long), or what the project is and its style (a cartoon game, a calm meditation app, a tech video), so we can choose the sounds for you.

We will ask you:

  • Which sounds do you need?
  • What is the project, and what is its style?

Questions and answers

Can I use the sounds in a commercial game or app?

Yes. Once the order is accepted, you can use the sounds in games, apps, videos and podcasts, including paid ones, with no royalties to anyone.

Can a sound loop seamlessly?

We can make ambiences such as rain or a crowd that are easy to loop, but we do not cut them to a perfect loop point; trim the loop in your audio editor or game engine.

Can you include voices, such as a character's shout?

No, the sounds come without speech. Short non-verbal sounds like a crowd murmur are fine; for lines of a character, order a voice-over.

Can you change one bar or one instrument in a track?

No, each track is made whole. A revision makes a new version from your notes, for example faster, calmer, without drums or with a longer ending, and you can keep the tracks you already like.
