Findings (excerpt)

1. Duplicate and weak titles (high priority)

11 service pages use the pattern "Plumbing Services | Northgate". Searchers and search engines cannot tell "boiler repair" from "drain unblocking".

PageCurrent titleSuggested title
/boiler-repairPlumbing Services, NorthgateBoiler Repair in [City], Same-Day Callout, Northgate
/blocked-drainsPlumbing Services, NorthgateBlocked Drains Cleared in [City] from £89, Northgate

2. Town pages are near duplicates (high priority)

The 7 town pages are 94% identical text. Each needs at least 250 words unique to that town: areas covered, typical jobs there, travel time, a local customer review.

3. Slow service pages on mobile (medium)

Hero images average 1.9 MB. Compressing to WebP and setting width to 1,200 px would bring load time to about 2.5 s.

4. Blog does not pass value to services (medium)

The top 10 posts get 62% of organic visits, but only 2 of them link to a service page. "Why is my boiler losing pressure?" alone gets about 1,100 visits a month and links nowhere.

5. Tag pages indexed (low)

38 /tag/ pages with 1–3 posts each. Set them to noindex.

About this service

People who use screen readers, keyboard navigation or zoom run into the same few barriers on most sites: images without alt text, low-contrast text, buttons that are only icons, form fields without labels and menus you cannot reach without a mouse. We check your pages against the basic WCAG 2.2 success criteria that can be judged from the page and its code, and write each problem with the element, the criterion and the fix. This is a practical first review, not a formal conformance certificate.

What is included

  • What you getA list of accessibility problems on the checked pages, each with the element, the WCAG criterion, who it affects and a code or text fix, ordered by impact.
  • Text alternativesAlt text, icon buttons and link names
  • Contrast and zoomText colours and layout at 200% zoom
  • Keyboard pathFocus order, visible focus, menus and dialogs
  • FormsLabels, error messages and required fields
  • StructureHeadings, landmarks and page language

What we need from you

A link to the site, the pages to check (home, a key form, a typical content page) and whether you must meet a specific requirement such as the European Accessibility Act or ADA.

We will ask you:

  • Which pages should be checked?
  • Do you have to meet a specific law or standard?
  • Which platform or theme is the site built on?

Questions and answers

Will my site be fully WCAG compliant after this?

This review covers the basics that can be checked from the pages. Full conformance also needs testing with assistive tools and real users, so treat this as the first round of fixes.

Is an accessibility overlay widget enough?

Usually not. Overlay widgets do not fix missing labels or keyboard traps in the code, and we point out where that is the case.

Do you write an accessibility statement?

In the top package you get a draft statement based on the findings, which you adjust once the fixes are done.
