About this service
We turn your photo into a painted portrait meant to be printed on canvas at a print shop or an online print service, in oil, watercolour, pencil or pop art style. Canvas texture hides fine detail, so painterly styles look natural on it, and we keep a calm margin around the subject so that the part of the picture wrapped around the frame edge is not the face. Our pictures are about 1.5 megapixels, which suits a small canvas of roughly 20 x 30 cm (8 x 12 in); for a large canvas over the sofa the detail would look soft.

What we need from you
Up to 5 photos with sharp faces and some space around the subject, in the shape of the canvas you plan (portrait or landscape). Name the style and the canvas size. Send photos you have the right to use, with permission from the people in them. We do not make ID or passport photos, do not work with nudity and never swap a face for a celebrity; a part of the subject cut off by the photo edge is recreated, not restored exactly.
We will ask you:

Will you print and send the canvas?
No, we deliver the PNG file only. Upload it to a local print shop or an online canvas service and choose a small size.
What is the largest canvas that will look good?
At about 1.5 megapixels, roughly 20 x 30 cm (8 x 12 in) looks fine, since canvas texture hides some softness. Larger canvases, posters and wall murals will look blurry up close.
Will the face be cut by the frame edge?
We keep a calm margin around the subject, but check the print service preview, where the wrapped area is usually shown, before ordering.
Will the portrait look exactly like the photo?
Faces stay recognizable, but the picture is redrawn in a painted style, so small features can differ slightly. Check the likeness before you order the print.
