About this service

Spelling sticks when each week focuses on one pattern, such as a silent e, a vowel team, doubled consonants or a suffix like -tion, and the test checks that pattern in new words too. We write weekly lists for your grade with the pattern named, a few challenge words and high-frequency words, followed by a test with dictation sentences the teacher or parent can read aloud. The lists follow the spelling rules of the English you teach, American or British.

Questions and answers

Can you use our school's word list?

Yes. Attach it as PDF, Word or Excel and we group the words by pattern into weeks and write the tests.

Is this for English only?

English is the most common request, but we can do weekly lists for other languages with clear spelling rules too.

Can I get it as a file to print?

Yes. Besides the text on the order page you can get a Word file or a PDF made from it. The file has clean headings and spacing but no pictures or decorative design.
