Findings (excerpt)

1. Duplicate and weak titles (high priority)

11 service pages use the pattern "Plumbing Services | Northgate". Searchers and search engines cannot tell "boiler repair" from "drain unblocking".

PageCurrent titleSuggested title
/boiler-repairPlumbing Services, NorthgateBoiler Repair in [City], Same-Day Callout, Northgate
/blocked-drainsPlumbing Services, NorthgateBlocked Drains Cleared in [City] from £89, Northgate

2. Town pages are near duplicates (high priority)

The 7 town pages are 94% identical text. Each needs at least 250 words unique to that town: areas covered, typical jobs there, travel time, a local customer review.

3. Slow service pages on mobile (medium)

Hero images average 1.9 MB. Compressing to WebP and setting width to 1,200 px would bring load time to about 2.5 s.

4. Blog does not pass value to services (medium)

The top 10 posts get 62% of organic visits, but only 2 of them link to a service page. "Why is my boiler losing pressure?" alone gets about 1,100 visits a month and links nowhere.

5. Tag pages indexed (low)

38 /tag/ pages with 1–3 posts each. Set them to noindex.

About this service

Most sites have analytics installed but measure only page views, so nobody can say which pages or campaigns bring enquiries or sales. A tracking plan fixes that before anyone touches a tag: it lists your business goals, the user actions that show progress toward them, the events and parameters to record in GA4 or a similar tool, which events count as key events, and the reports that answer your questions. You get a plan your developer or tag manager setup can follow, with event names written out.

What is included

  • What you getA tracking plan with goals, a table of events with names, triggers and parameters, which events are key events, consent notes and a list of reports to build, ready for your developer or tag manager setup.

What we need from you

A link to the site, what the business needs to know (where leads come from, which content sells), the main user actions such as forms, calls, bookings or purchases, your analytics tool and whether you use Google Tag Manager.

We will ask you:

  • What do you need to know from your analytics?
  • Which actions on the site matter?
  • Which analytics tool and tag manager do you use?

Questions and answers

Will you set up GA4 for me?

No, we do not log in to your analytics or tag manager. The plan is written so your developer can set it up quickly and test it.

Does this cover cookie consent law?

We note how consent affects tracking and which settings to consider. For legal requirements in your country, check with your legal adviser.

Can it include ecommerce tracking?

Yes. For stores, the plan includes the standard ecommerce events and which ones your platform already sends.
