About this service
Upload your thesis or dissertation as a Word file or a PDF with a text layer, together with your university's formatting guide, and we check it against those rules: order of sections, title page content, heading numbering, table and figure captions, numbered lists, abbreviations, appendices and how citations match the reference list. Layout settings such as margins, fonts and line spacing cannot be measured reliably from the text, so for those you get a short checklist to go through yourself. We do not edit or lay out your file; you get a list of fixes with the place of each.
What is included
- What you getA list of formatting fixes grouped by section with the chapter, heading or page of each, a checklist for layout settings, and in higher packages a corrected reference list. You get it as text on the order page and as a Word (.docx) file.
- StructureSections in the required order
- Headings and numberingLevels, numbers and the table of contents
- Tables and figuresCaptions, numbering, mentions in the text
- Citations vs listEvery citation has an entry and back
- Layout checklistMargins, fonts, spacing to verify yourself
How it works
- 1UploadYou upload the thesis and the guide
- 2CheckWe compare the text with each rule
- 3Fix listYou get fixes with their locations
What we need from you
The thesis as a Word file or a PDF with a text layer (not a scan), your university's formatting guide or its key rules, and the citation style it requires.
We will ask you:
- Which university, faculty and degree is this for?
- Can you attach or paste the formatting guide?
- Which citation style does the guide require?
- Is there a submission deadline we should know about?

Questions and answers
Can you send back my thesis with the fixes made?
No. We return a fix list and, in higher packages, a corrected reference list. We do not edit your file or show tracked changes.
My thesis is a scanned PDF. Will it work?
No, scans without a text layer cannot be read. Export the PDF from Word, or upload the Word file itself.
Do you check the content or grammar?
No, only formatting against your guide. For grammar, order proofreading separately.
Do you look up missing details online?
No, we work only with what you send. Every source without a year, pages, DOI or publisher goes into a list, you add the details, and we update the entry within your revisions.
