About this service

Empty and error states are the screens people see when there is nothing to show or something went wrong, such as an empty cart on first use, no search results, no connection or a server error, and a good one pairs a small picture with a short line saying what happened and a button that helps, such as Try again or Browse products. Upload a screenshot of your app, and we draw a set of these states in its colours, fonts and picture style, with your messages and button labels from the brief, so they feel as finished as your main screens. You get PNG mock-ups of about 1.5 megapixels, each made from one of your screenshots and always upright 2:3, about 1024 x 1536 pixels, whatever the shape of your upload, so even a wide screenshot becomes a phone screen; they are still pictures, not app code, an animation or a Figma, Sketch or XD file.

What we need from you

Up to 5 sharp screenshots of your app as PNG, JPEG or WebP (no PDF), one screen each, and only files you have the right to use. For each state give a short headline, one line and the button label, and describe the picture idea in a few words; Latin-script languages draw most cleanly, and you check the spelling.

We will ask you:

Questions and answers

Which states should I order first?

The ones users meet most: the first-use empty screen of your main list, no search results and no connection. The Standard package covers those three; Premium adds, for example, a server error and a missing permission.

Can you write the error messages?

You give the wording, as it is part of your product's voice; keep each message to a short headline and one line. We draw it as written, and small text can come out imperfect, so check it and ask for a revision.

Is this code or an animation?

No, each state is a still PNG picture, not app code, an animation or a Figma, Sketch or XD file. Your developer recreates it in the app and can animate the picture later.

Can the picture use a well-known character?

No, we draw original scenes in your style, with no characters from other companies, no celebrities and no other brands' logos; we add no invented ratings or reviews and never change documents. Another app's empty states guide only the style, and the picture is redrawn, so your logo and icons can shift slightly.
