Example result
Telegram bot for booking haircuts at a barbershop
The bot in Telegram
A part of the code
async def booking_done(update: Update, context: ContextTypes.DEFAULT_TYPE) -> int:
"""The last step of the form: thanks the client and passes the request on."""
request = context.user_data["booking"]
request["phone"] = update.message.text.strip()
await update.message.reply_text(TEXTS["booking_thanks"], reply_markup=main_menu())
await context.bot.send_message(settings.admin_chat_id, format_request(request))
sheet.append_row([datetime.now().isoformat(timespec="minutes"), *request.values()])
return ConversationHandler.END
All the answers and buttons are in texts.yaml, so the client changes a price or the hours without touching the code.
Files: a ZIP archive with bot.py, texts.yaml, settings.example.env (where the bot token and the sheet go, filled in by the client), requirements.txt and a README: creating the bot in Telegram, connecting the Google Sheet and running it on a small server or hosting. The bot sends the request but does not check the barbers' calendar: the owner confirms the time.
Client: a barbershop with 3 barbers that took bookings only by phone. Task: a Telegram bot with a menu: prices, address and hours, a booking form (service, day and time, name, phone) that sends each request to the owner's chat and adds it to a Google Sheet.
The client and all details are made up.
About this service
An event needs one place where guests find the programme and sign up. This Telegram bot gives your programme, speakers, venue, the way there and other details from buttons and, from Standard, registers guests by a form you write: a name, a contact, a ticket type or session, and any other question. Each registration comes to your chat and a Google Sheet, so the guest list builds up as people sign up. In Premium, admin commands send a reminder or a change of plan to everyone who started the bot, and the menu can be in 2 languages. The bot does not sell tickets or take payments, though it can link to your own ticket page; it does not count places, close registration at a limit or issue tickets or QR codes. We write the Python code and a README on creating the bot in @BotFather and running it on your computer, server or a hosting. Hosting and the token are yours.

The event's name, date, venue and programme with sessions, times and speakers as text; how to get there and what to bring; the questions of the registration form and of any other form; the chat where registrations should go; a link to your ticket page, if you sell tickets elsewhere. Questions and answers
Can the bot sell tickets?
No. It takes no payments. It can register guests and give a link to your own ticket page.
Can it stop registration when places run out?
No, it does not count places. You see registrations in the sheet; to close them, change the texts file and restart the bot. In Premium you can also tell guests by broadcast.
Will guests get a reminder?
In Premium an admin command sends a reminder to everyone who started the bot. Telegram does not let a bot write to people who have not started it.
Who keeps the guests' data?
Each registration goes to your chat and your Google Sheet. Telling guests how their data is used is up to you.
Where does it run?
On your computer, server or a hosting with Python; we do not host bots, and the token stays with you. WhatsApp is not part of this service.
