Files: a ZIP archive with 5 HTML pages, the styles and 7 pictures drawn for the articles, ready to upload to the client's hosting. New articles are added by copying an article page. The pictures here are screenshots of the site.

Client: Anna Berg, who writes simple home recipes and wanted her own blog instead of posts scattered across social networks. Task: a calm blog in warm white and olive with serif headings: a home page, 3 articles from her notes (pantry staples, Sunday lunch prep, one-pan lemon chicken) and an About page with her email and Instagram.

The client and all details are made up.

About this service

A music blog you put on your own hosting, for album reviews, playlists, gig reports and stories about the music you love, or about your own band. Each article page has a clear title, the date and author, headings, a card with the artist, the release and your rating, buttons to the streaming or shop pages you give, pictures, related posts and links to your social profiles. Send us your articles, or the subjects and your notes, and we write them (about 600 words each), draw the pictures and build the site in plain HTML and CSS. Opinions, quotes and facts about artists come only from you, interviews go in as you send them, and we do not use album art or band photos you have no right to. It is a static site, with no admin panel, music player, comments or forms. Hosting and the domain are on your side.

Questions and answers

Can readers listen to tracks on the blog?

There is no music player or audio on the site. Each article can have buttons to the streaming pages you give, where readers listen.

Can you use album covers or band photos?

Only ones you send and have the right to use. Otherwise each post gets a cover drawn for the blog.

Will you review albums I have not described?

No. Reviews carry your opinion from your text or notes; we do not make up ratings, quotes or facts about artists.

Can it be a blog for my own band?

Yes: news, releases and tour dates you give, with links to your music. Ticket sales stay on the service you use.

How do I add new posts later?

Copy an article page, change the release card, the text and the picture in any code editor and link it from the home page; the guide shows how. Your developer can also move the design to a blogging platform.
