Store description

Bake your first real sourdough loaf this weekend — no special equipment needed.

Slow Rise walks you from a jar of flour and water to a crackling, open-crumb loaf in six short chapters. You will learn how to start and keep a starter alive, read the dough instead of the clock, and fix the five most common problems: flat loaves, gummy crumb, pale crust, sour overload and a sleepy starter.

Inside: a printable weekend baking schedule, troubleshooting tables and plain advice from a baker who learned it all in a small home kitchen.

Questions and answers

Why don't I get the final PDF in my trim size?

Our PDF files are made on A4 pages. Setting the page size in Word and exporting takes a few minutes with our guide, and it lets you adjust margins if your printer asks.

Can you set page numbers and running heads?

Our Word file has no page numbers or running heads. The guide shows how to add them in Word in a few clicks, including no numbers on blank and chapter-opening pages.

Is a cover included?

No, this service covers the interior text only. Print services take the cover as a separate file.

Will you change my text?

No, we keep it word for word. Typos are fixed only in Premium and only if you ask, with a list of every fix.
