About this service

We write the spoken opening of your podcast from your brief and voice it in a synthesized voice: the show's name, what it is about, who hosts it and when new episodes come out. A good intro is short enough that regular listeners don't skip it, so the name comes early and the promise of the show fits into a single line. The same recording opens every episode, so your show description must tell listeners that the voice is synthesized.

What is included

  • What you getOne intro per order as an MP3 of about 20, 40 or 60 seconds in a synthesized voice, with a WAV from Standard and the script on the order page. Voice only, without music or sound effects: the theme tune and any jingle are yours to add under it in your editor.
  • Name firstThe show's name in the first seconds, read the way you say it
  • One-line promiseWhat listeners get from the show, said in one sentence
  • Hosts and formatThe hosts' names and the show's format exactly as you write them
  • Easy over a themeShort phrases that sit easily over your theme tune
  • Tone of the showCalm for interviews, lively for comedy, serious for news

What we need from you

The podcast's name and how it is pronounced, the hosts' names, the topic and the promise to listeners, how often episodes come out, the tone of the show and the language.

We will ask you:

  • What is the podcast called, and how is the name pronounced?
  • What is the show about, and who hosts it?
  • How often do new episodes come out?
  • What tone and voice suit the show?

Questions and answers

Can you add our theme music?

No, we deliver the voice only. Put it over your theme in the editor you use for episodes, and keep the music low while the name is spoken.

Can I use the same intro on Spotify, Apple Podcasts and YouTube?

Yes, it's one audio file that you add to each episode yourself. Each platform has its own rules on synthesized voices and disclosure, so check them and mention the voice in your show notes.

Can the intro sound like a famous radio voice?

No, we don't imitate real or famous voices. Describe the style instead, such as deep and slow or bright and quick, and we pick a synthesized voice to match.

Which length do I need?

Most intros are 10 to 20 seconds, so Basic usually fits. The longer packages suit a trailer-style opening that tells new listeners what the show is about.
