Host lines (opening)

Tom (in captain's hat): "Ahoy, crew! I'm Captain Redbeard, and this morning a seagull dropped this on our deck." (holds up a torn map) "Half a map! Legend says the other half is hidden right here, guarded by riddles only real pirates can solve. Are you real pirates?" (kids shout "Aye!") "I can't hear you over the waves!" (louder "AYE!") "Then earn your gold. Three trials, one treasure. Crews, to your ships!"

Games and contests

Cannonball relay (20 min)

Each crew carries water balloons on a big spoon to their "ship" (a hula hoop) 10 metres away. A dropped "cannonball" goes back to the start. The crew with the most balloons in 3 minutes wins a map piece. Rain option: use ping-pong balls indoors.

Knots & riddles (20 min)

Two tasks per crew: tie a simple knot from a picture card, and solve 3 riddles. Example: "I have a bed but never sleep, a mouth but never eat. What am I?" (A river.)

Treasure hunt (35 min)

Five clues in rhyme lead around the yard. Clue 1: "Where green things grow and the hose sleeps tight, look under the pot that's painted white." The last clue leads to a chest with gold coin bags for everyone — no crew loses.

About this service

A stage sketch lives on one clear game: a normal situation, one thing that is wrong with it and that wrongness escalating three or four times until a button ending gets the laugh and the blackout. We write sketches for your theatre group, revue or comedy night around that structure, with parts sized for your cast, stage directions that work on a bare stage and endings that land without needing a punchline explained. Sketches are original, and topical ones use your local references.

What is included

  • What you getOriginal comedy sketch scripts with a cast list, lines and stage directions, a running time for each and a props list for the whole show. You get it as text on the order page that you can copy or download.

What we need from you

The show and audience, the number and type of performers, the stage and props you have, the length of each sketch, topics or local references you like, and anything off limits.

We will ask you:

  • Who is the audience?
  • How many performers, and how experienced?
  • Which topics are fair game, and which are off limits?

Questions and answers

Can sketches be family-friendly?

Yes. Tell us the audience age, and we keep the humour clean without making it childish.

Can the same performer play several roles?

Yes, we plan doubling and quick changes so a small cast can cover all the parts.

Do you stage or perform it?

No. We write the script; you and your cast rehearse and perform it.
