Host lines (opening)

Tom (in captain's hat): "Ahoy, crew! I'm Captain Redbeard, and this morning a seagull dropped this on our deck." (holds up a torn map) "Half a map! Legend says the other half is hidden right here, guarded by riddles only real pirates can solve. Are you real pirates?" (kids shout "Aye!") "I can't hear you over the waves!" (louder "AYE!") "Then earn your gold. Three trials, one treasure. Crews, to your ships!"

Games and contests

Cannonball relay (20 min)

Each crew carries water balloons on a big spoon to their "ship" (a hula hoop) 10 metres away. A dropped "cannonball" goes back to the start. The crew with the most balloons in 3 minutes wins a map piece. Rain option: use ping-pong balls indoors.

Knots & riddles (20 min)

Two tasks per crew: tie a simple knot from a picture card, and solve 3 riddles. Example: "I have a bed but never sleep, a mouth but never eat. What am I?" (A river.)

Treasure hunt (35 min)

Five clues in rhyme lead around the yard. Clue 1: "Where green things grow and the hose sleeps tight, look under the pot that's painted white." The last clue leads to a chest with gold coin bags for everyone — no crew loses.

About this service

New comedians usually have funny stories but tell them like stories, with the laugh arriving once at the end, when a set needs a setup, a punchline and two or three tags every few lines. We take your ideas, observations and real stories and shape them into bits with tight setups, punchlines, tags and a callback to close, keeping your voice and your point of view. Delivery notes mark pauses, act-outs and where to let the laugh breathe.

What is included

  • What you getA stand-up set written out bit by bit with setups, punchlines and tags, delivery notes, a running order with timing and, in the higher packages, alternative punchlines to test at open mics. You get it as text on the order page that you can copy or download.
  • Your material, tightenedYour stories, not someone else's jokes
  • Laughs per minuteTags after every punchline
  • Running orderStrong open, strong close
  • Callback closeAn ending that ties back

What we need from you

Your ideas, stories and observations, even rough ones, who you are on stage, the length of your spot, the kind of rooms you play and topics you will not joke about.

We will ask you:

  • How long is your spot?
  • Who are you on stage?
  • Which topics will you not joke about?

Questions and answers

Will it sound like me?

Yes, as long as you send us your material in your own words. We tighten and structure it, but keep your phrasing and point of view.

Can you write jokes from scratch on any topic?

We can add bits on topics you name, but sets work best when they grow from your own life, so send at least a few stories.

Are the jokes original?

Yes, written for you from your material. We do not borrow known comedians' bits.
