About this service
If you are making a new family album or photo book from old prints, we restore the photos so they sit well together on the page. Pictures from different decades come with different damage and colour casts, so in one order we clean scratches and stains, bring back faded tones and keep black-and-white, sepia and colour photos consistent in contrast. Each picture is made from one of your photos as a PNG of about 1.5 megapixels, which prints well at album sizes up to about 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 in), not for big pages.
What is included
- What you getYou get 1, 3 or 5 restored album pictures as PNG files of about 1.5 megapixels, one per photo in your package, with matching contrast across the set. For a larger album, place several orders of 5.

What we need from you
Up to 5 photos as PNG, JPEG or WebP, ideally ones that will share a spread. Tell us which should stay black and white and which should be colourized, the print size of the album and anything to fix on each photo.
We will ask you:
- What is the album for?
- Which photos stay black and white, and which go into colour?
- What size will the pictures be printed?
- Anything to fix on a particular photo?

Questions and answers
I have 40 photos for the album. How do I order?
One order takes up to 5 photos, so split the album into orders of 5, ideally grouped by decade or by spread. Mention in each brief that the photos belong to one album, and we keep the same look.
Can I print the album pages large?
Full-page prints in a large photo book will look soft. About 1.5 megapixels is right for standard album prints and collages; for big pages keep the photos small on the spread.
Will faces change from photo to photo?
Each picture is redrawn from its own photo, so the same person stays recognizable, but small features can differ slightly between pictures. Compare them side by side and ask for a revision on any that look off.
What can't go into the order?
Document and passport photos, certificates and receipts, and any photo you don't have the right to use. We add no nudity and never swap a face for a celebrity or anyone else. Badly damaged parts of a print are recreated, not restored exactly.
