About this service
We restore photos of grandparents and great-grandparents: studio portraits on card, snapshots from the village or the city, couples on a bench, a grandmother at the stove. These are often the only pictures left of them, so we work carefully, removing cracks, stains and silvering, bringing back sepia or grey tones, and recreating torn-off parts to fit rather than inventing new details. Each picture is made from one of your photos as a PNG of about 1.5 megapixels, enough for a print up to about 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6 in), not for a poster.

What we need from you
Up to 5 photos as PNG, JPEG or WebP; scan card-mounted portraits flat and take glass off a framed photo before you photograph it. Tell us what to fix, whether to keep sepia or colourize, and anything the family remembers: eye and hair colour, a favourite dress.

Questions and answers
It is the only photo of my great-grandmother. Can you save it?
In most cases yes, as long as part of the face is still visible. What is completely gone is recreated to fit, so it may not match how she really looked; the more survives, the closer the result.
Will grandpa still look like himself?
He stays recognizable, but the picture is redrawn, so wrinkles, a moustache or the writing on a studio stamp can differ slightly. Show the result to the family and ask for a revision if something feels wrong.
Is there anything you won't do?
We don't make document photos and never change old certificates, passports or letters. We add no nudity and never replace a face with someone else's, even a relative from another photo; send family photos you have the right to use.
