About this service
A witness statement is your account in your own voice: what you saw, heard or did, in the order it happened, with dates, places and how you know each fact. We turn your notes or a recorded account you typed up into short numbered paragraphs written in the first person, keep opinions apart from facts and mark every document you refer to as an exhibit. Courts set their own heading, declaration and signature wording, so we leave a clearly marked place for it.
What is included
- What you getA draft statement in numbered, dated paragraphs with an exhibit list and a marked place for your court's heading and declaration, as text and a Word (.docx) file. This is a draft for information, not legal advice: court rules and forms differ by country and court, so check them (ideally with a lawyer) and file it yourself.
- Numbered paragraphsOne fact or event in each
- Your voice keptFirst person, your words where possible
- Facts apart from opinionHow you know each point
- Exhibits markedDocuments numbered and referenced
- Gaps flaggedDates or details you need to confirm
How it works
- 1Your accountYou write what you saw and when
- 2DraftingWe order it into dated paragraphs
- 3DeliveryYou get the statement as text and .docx
What we need from you
Who you are and how you are connected to the case, what you witnessed in your own words with approximate dates and places, the documents or photos you refer to, the case name or number, and the court and country.
We will ask you:
- Who are you in this case?
- What did you see or hear, and roughly when?
- Which documents or photos do you refer to?
- Which court and country is the case in?

Questions and answers
Is this legal advice?
No. It is a draft of your account. The required form, declaration and signing rules depend on the court, so check them with the court office or a lawyer.
Will you add facts that make my statement stronger?
No. A witness statement must contain only what you know to be true. We order and clarify your account, and mark anything that sounds unsure for you to check.
Can I sign it as it is?
Read every paragraph first and correct anything that is not exactly right. Signing a statement you know is wrong can have serious consequences.
