About this service
Wooden crafts sell on grain, tone and finish, from a walnut cutting board to a laser-cut ornament or a carved spoon, and a garage or workshop background takes attention away from all three. Send a photo of your piece, and we make a clean first photo for Etsy: the item alone on white or a light plain background, centred and large, with soft light that brings out the grain and the oiled or raw finish. Each PNG is made from one of your photos at about 1.5 megapixels, for Etsy and social media, not for large prints, and because the picture is redrawn, fine engraving, burned lettering or small laser-cut text can change slightly.

Up to 5 photos as PNG, JPEG or WebP, with the piece sharp and whole in the frame and the engraved or best side facing up. Tell us the wood species and finish, the size, and any engraving or text that must stay exactly as it is.

Questions and answers
Will the wood grain be the same as on my board?
The overall grain pattern, knots and tone follow your photo, but fine lines in the wood can shift slightly because the picture is redrawn. Every piece of wood is unique anyway, so if you sell one-of-a-kind items, say in the listing whether the photo shows that exact piece.
Can you show a name I haven't engraved yet?
No, the main photo shows the piece as it is in your photo, so we don't add engraving it doesn't have. To show buyers their personalisation choices, order our Etsy photo of personalization options, which adds short labels to a photo of your real samples.
Can you hide cracks, knots or burn marks?
No. Any defects, such as cracks, loose knots, glue lines and laser burn marks, stay, because buyers must get what the photo shows, and we don't change the wood species or add inlays, handles or hardware. Sawdust and the workbench around the piece are removed, as they are not part of it.
What can't you work with?
Only photos you have the right to use; designs copied from other makers or licensed characters are not suitable. We don't make document photos, never change certificates or receipts, add no nudity, never put in a celebrity or another real person, and always keep a full background.
