What the numbers say
- Months 1–2 are the tight spot. Cash drops to about $2,900 in month 2. Keep at least $3,000 in reserve or delay one hire until month 3.
- Summer carries the year. Months 5–9 bring about two-thirds of annual profit, so plan marketing and staff holidays around them.
- Price matters more than volume. Raising the average check by $0.50 lifts year 1 profit by about $16,900; selling 10% more cups adds about $15,000.
- Payback. At the current pace, the $38,000 start-up spend is covered in roughly 13 months.
All formulas are live in the Excel file: change any yellow cell on the Assumptions sheet and every month updates.

About this service
We forecast a dental or medical practice from its schedule: chairs or exam rooms, appointments per provider per day, the mix of treatments and their fees, and how payment splits between insurance and private patients. Provider pay, assistants, lab fees and consumables per treatment, equipment loans and rent are set against that, so you see the profit per chair and how many patients you need to break even.
What is included
- What you getForecast tables for your practice: appointments, revenue by treatment group and payer, provider and staff costs, lab and supply costs, profit, cash flow and break-even patients, with assumptions listed. Questions and answers
Can you plan a new associate or extra chair?
Yes. We add the equipment cost, ramp-up period and pay, and show when it starts to pay off.
Do you handle insurance billing?
No. We only reflect the payment delays and rates you give us in the forecast.
Can I use it to buy a practice?
It helps you test the seller's numbers. Before buying, have an accountant and a lawyer review the deal.
