Files: a ZIP archive with 5 HTML pages, the styles and 7 pictures drawn for the articles, ready to upload to the client's hosting. New articles are added by copying an article page. The pictures here are screenshots of the site.

Client: Anna Berg, who writes simple home recipes and wanted her own blog instead of posts scattered across social networks. Task: a calm blog in warm white and olive with serif headings: a home page, 3 articles from her notes (pantry staples, Sunday lunch prep, one-pan lemon chicken) and an About page with her email and Instagram.

The client and all details are made up.

About this service

A coffee blog you put on your own hosting, for how you brew, the beans you try and what they taste like to you. Brewing guides have a box with your dose, water, grind and time, then the steps in order; tasting notes have the origin, the roast and your impressions. Each page has a clear title, the date and author, headings, pictures, related posts and links to your social profiles, and to roasters or shops if you give them. Send us your articles, or the subjects and your notes, and we write them (about 600 words each), draw the pictures and build the site in plain HTML and CSS. Recipes, origins and prices come only from you, and we add no health claims about coffee. It is a static site, with no admin panel, shop, comments or forms. Hosting and the domain are on your side.

Links to roasters or shops and your disclosure, if you use them. The author's name and a few lines for the About page, your contacts and social links. Your colours and style. We will ask you:

  • Articles: your texts, or what to write about
  • About you and your contacts
  • Colours and style

Questions and answers

Will you add brewing recipes of your own?

No: the numbers are yours. We lay out your dose, water, grind and time exactly as you give them and do not add methods from elsewhere.

Can I link to roasters or sell my own beans?

Links, yes, to the pages you give, with your disclosure. There is no shop or cart on the site, so sales stay on your own shop, for example on Shopify.

Can I write about caffeine and health?

You can share your own views in your words. We do not add health claims or advice about coffee.

How do I add new posts later?

Copy an article page, change the recipe box, the text and the picture in any code editor and link it from the home page; the guide shows how. Your developer can also move the design to a blogging platform.

Can it be found in search engines?

The pages have titles, descriptions and headings in order and load fast. Rankings depend on your content and on how long the blog has been online, so we cannot promise positions.
