  • Hosting and domain: decide who pays and add a clause if you manage them.
  • Both parties' legal names are written exactly as registered.

This is a template to adapt to your business, not legal advice.

Client: Lena Park, a freelance web designer trading as Park Studio Design. Template for one-off website projects. Fields in [BRACKETS] are filled in for each new client.

The client and all details are made up.

About this service

DJs, caterers, photographers, florists and venues lose money when a booking is cancelled late, the date moves or the client adds hours on the night. We fill in a contract template for your service with the event date, times and location, what exactly is included, the deposit and payment schedule, cancellation and rescheduling fees, overtime rates, setup and access needs, and what happens if you cannot perform. The terms are written so that a couple or an event planner can read and sign them quickly.

Questions and answers

Is this legal advice?

No. It is a template for information. Consumer rules on deposits and cancellations differ by country, so have a lawyer check it before use.

Can I keep the deposit if the client cancels?

The contract states it clearly, but some countries limit how much you may keep. Your lawyer can confirm what is enforceable.

Does it cover force majeure and illness?

Yes. It says what happens if the event cannot go ahead or you cannot perform, including a replacement or refund.
