Files: a ZIP archive with 5 HTML pages, the styles and 7 pictures drawn for the articles, ready to upload to the client's hosting. New articles are added by copying an article page. The pictures here are screenshots of the site.

Client: Anna Berg, who writes simple home recipes and wanted her own blog instead of posts scattered across social networks. Task: a calm blog in warm white and olive with serif headings: a home page, 3 articles from her notes (pantry staples, Sunday lunch prep, one-pan lemon chicken) and an About page with her email and Instagram.

The client and all details are made up.

About this service

A vegan food blog you put on your own hosting, for plant-based dishes cooked your way. Each recipe article has your intro, the ingredients with amounts, numbered steps, the time and servings, your notes on swaps and where to find less common ingredients, a cover picture of the dish, related recipes and links to your social profiles. Send us your recipes, or the dishes and how you make them, and we write them up (about 600 words each), draw the pictures and build the site in plain HTML and CSS. The articles share your recipes and views: we add no health claims or diet advice, nutrition figures go in only if you give them, and we do not cook the recipes ourselves. It is a static site, with no admin panel, ratings, comments, search or forms. Hosting and the domain are on your side.

Questions and answers

Will the blog say vegan food is healthier?

Only your own views, in your words. We do not add health claims, nutrition advice or comparisons with other diets, and nutrition figures go in only if you give them.

Do you check that every ingredient is vegan?

No: we lay out the ingredients you list. Checking labels and allergens is on your side, and your note can remind readers to check them too.

Can I use my own dish photos?

Yes, up to 5 with the order, placed where you say. The other picture slots get dishes drawn for the blog.

Can readers rate recipes?

No: a static site stores nothing. Each recipe can link to your social profile, where readers share how it turned out.

How do I add new recipes later?

Copy a recipe page, change the ingredients, steps and picture in any code editor and link it from the home page; the guide shows how. Your developer can also move the design to a blogging platform.
