About this service

Infographics and charts mix headings, labels, legends, tiny footnotes and numbers in a way that a normal document translator easily scrambles. Upload images of your infographics, charts or diagrams, and we translate every text element and list it in a table with its position, the original, the translation and the character count, so your designer can replace the text without guessing where it goes. Numbers, units and dates are checked against the image and converted to the target language format where you ask.

What is included

  • What you getA translation table of every text element with position, original, translation and length, on the order page and as a Word (.docx) file, and in Premium also as an Excel (.xlsx) file for your designer.
  • Every elementTitles, labels, legends, footnotes and sources
  • Position mapWhere each line sits, top to bottom
  • Length checkCharacter count against the original
  • Numbers and unitsChecked and localised on request
  • Glossary keptYour terms used the same way everywhere

What we need from you

Clear images of each infographic or chart, the source and target languages, the audience, whether units or number formats should change, and any glossary or brand terms.

We will ask you:

  • Which languages: from and into?
  • Who is the audience of the infographic?
  • Should number formats and units change?
  • Is there a glossary or terms that must stay in English?

Questions and answers

Will you deliver the translated infographic as an image?

No, we translate the text and deliver it as a table. Your designer puts it into the source file of the infographic.

What if the translation is longer than the original?

German or French often run longer. Where a line is much longer, we add a shorter option that keeps the meaning.

Do you check the data in the chart?

We check that numbers are copied correctly from the image, not whether the data itself is right.
