English subtitles (fragment)
112
00:07:41,200 --> 00:07:44,050
Before you open the bowl,
the clay has to be perfectly centered.
113
00:07:44,300 --> 00:07:47,900
Brace your left elbow on your knee
and push in with the heel of your hand.
114
00:07:48,100 --> 00:07:51,350
If the clay wobbles against your palm,
it's not there yet.
115
00:07:51,600 --> 00:07:54,800
[STUDENT] How long do I keep pushing?
116
00:07:55,000 --> 00:07:59,400
Until it feels like it's standing still,
even though the wheel is spinning.
Spanish translation (same cues)
112
00:07:41,200 --> 00:07:44,050
Antes de abrir el cuenco,
el barro tiene que estar bien centrado.
113
00:07:44,300 --> 00:07:47,900
Apoya el codo izquierdo en la rodilla
y empuja con la base de la mano.
114
00:07:48,100 --> 00:07:51,350
Si el barro tiembla bajo tu palma,
todavía no está listo.
115
00:07:51,600 --> 00:07:54,800
[ALUMNA] ¿Cuánto tiempo sigo empujando?
116
00:07:55,000 --> 00:07:59,400
Hasta que parezca quieto,
aunque el torno siga girando.

- To check: at 14:22 the teacher names a glaze brand quietly; marked as [glaze name] since it's not clearly audible.
Client: Clay Corner, a small pottery studio with a video channel. Video: "Throwing your first bowl", 24 min 10 s. Ordered: English subtitles plus a Spanish translation. Delivered as two SRT files, one per language.
The client and all details are made up.
About this service
Most international festivals ask films in other languages to come with English subtitles, usually as an SRT file or burned into the screener, and programmers stop watching when lines are clumsy or out of sync. We transcribe the dialogue of your short from an unlisted screener link and translate it into the language the festival asks for, keeping each line on screen while it is spoken. You also get the original dialogue track for festivals at home and your own edit.

What we need from you
An unlisted link to the screener that opens without signing in, the language of the dialogue, the language the festival requires, and the characters' names.
We will ask you:
- Which language is the dialogue in?
- Which subtitle language does the festival require?
- What are the characters' names, and how are they spelled?
- Is there slang or wordplay we should know about?

Questions and answers
Can you burn the subtitles into the film?
No, you get subtitle files. Your editing software, such as Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve or Final Cut, burns them in when you export the screener.
Are signs and on-screen text translated?
No, only spoken dialogue. Translate a letter, a sign or a text message shown on screen yourself and add it as an extra line.
Can my screener stay private?
Yes. An unlisted link on Vimeo, YouTube or a cloud drive works, as long as it opens without signing in.
